The father is admitted to hospital for management of some acute issues. My client is all the time feeling extreme tension, frustration and even anger at the father for not taking care of his health and escalating his health issue. The client feels angry and frustrated as the admission has resulted in need to be in the hospital and running around between home, pharmacy, billing and the ward. This has increased the risk of exposure to COVID. He is very irritable and snapping at everyone and his own blood pressure is also going high. There is hardly anyone else in the family to share caregiver burden, other than the mother at home.AnsweredDr. Nitin Anand, Dept. of Clinical Psychology, NIMHANS answered 7 months ago • Feeling sad and down, Health worries432 views1 answers0 votesI am a counselor posted in a facility where COVID infected patients are being cared for. I use PPE and try to do what I can. But I am not able to help much, I cannot even relate with the patient as usual. There are physical barriers due to mask, etc., and emotional barriers also – I feel disconnected mentally. This feeling of mental disconnect also makes me feel guilty.AnsweredDr. Ravi Pinjarkar, Dept. of Clinical Psychology, NIMHANS answered 8 months ago • Feeling sad and down, Other172 views1 answers0 votesI was asked to counsel a lady whose husband attempted suicide after he was suspected of having been infected with COVID.
