I have a client who has been diagnosed with depression prior to the lockdown. My client was seeking therapy services. However, post lockdown, even though he needs sessions, he is unable to have sessions due to lack of privacy in his house even for telephonic sessions. How should I proceed to best help the client?

I am a counselor posted in a facility where COVID infected patients are being cared for. I use PPE and try to do what I can. But I am not able to help much, I cannot even relate with the patient as usual. There are physical barriers due to mask, etc., and emotional barriers also – I feel disconnected mentally. This feeling of mental disconnect also makes me feel guilty.

NIMHANS issued guidelines for tele-counselling services. In the same regard I have one question – Does it apply on all tele-counselling centres that are providing tele-counselling services in India or there may be some difference as Ministry of Labour and Welfare guidelines has issued a separate set of guidelines for counselling centres. Please help me out in this regard.
