I have a 16 year old adolescent client who is stuck at home as the school is shut due to the COVID- 19 pandemic. Her parents, especially her father, expect her to study all day, and be productive during this situation. My client is feeling overwhelmed and highly distressed. What do I say to her?

At this point of therapy, a session with the parents may help. This session should focus on stresses caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, and how it affects students. It should also focus on helping parents understand how to encourage their daughter for studies, instead of creating additional stress for productivity. Moreover, a session with your client to discuss how to effectively manage her online education, would be helpful.
